The Hepatitis B Rapid Test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of the viral liver disease, Hepatitis E, in human blood. It is intended to be used as a screening test and as an aid in the diagnosis of infection.
Hepatitis E is a virus that attacks the liver, and is typically a short lived disease but, on rare occasions, can become a chronic disease that may lead to liver failure. Hepatitis E is transmitted by ingesting water contaminated with feces. There is an average of 20 million annual cases of infection, where an estimated 57,000 deaths occur
